Art workshops at The Royal London Hospital spark conversations between young and elderly

Children and elderly staying at The Royal London Hospital were encouraged to support one another through a series of art workshops put together by Art Night Festival, Vital Arts and ArtSocial Fondation.

Artist educator Sam Ayre has created an innovative way for children and adults over 60 to work together and to exchange ideas and experiences though art. The aim of the project is to encourage communication between young people and elderly, to stimulate creative thinking and memory of the young and the elderly, many of whom have dementia and Alzheimer disease.

Five workshops ran in winter 2019 and two more are coming in March.
